Bloomington School Board resolution affirms student safety
The Bloomington School Board adopted a resolution at its Jan. 21 special meeting affirming and reinforcing ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’ commitment to student safety and access to education.
The resolution acknowledges fear and uncertainty related to increased immigration enforcement activity is affecting some students’ sense of safety and belonging and may negatively impact attendance, engagement and well-being.
³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ remains firm in its commitment to provide equal access to education for all students regardless of immigration status. The resolution reaffirms that schools must remain safe, welcoming and inclusive environments for all students. The District will continue to support students and families affected by immigration-related events, including access to mental health resources, culturally responsive support and community partnerships.
