Jefferson High School band programs presents Annual Pops Concert
Jefferson High School’s band program will present its annual Pops concert, “A Night at the Movies,” on Tuesday, Feb. 28 in the school’s auditorium, 4001 W. 102nd St.
Jefferson’s four curricular bands - concert, symphonic and varsity bands and the wind ensemble - will feature some 160 musicians. The school’s jazz bands and student groups are also scheduled to perform.
The concert will consist of two parts, with Part 1 at 6:30 p.m. featuring performances from the symphonic, concert and jazz collective bands, playing music from popular movie scores from Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and Brave.
The second part begins at 8 p.m. and will feature the varsity band, jazz big band and wind ensemble performing movie themes from Back to the Future, E.T., Princess Bride and the Rocketeer.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students and seniors, and can be purchased online at . Cash or check will also be accepted at the door.
