Kennedy High School’s Green Club received a community environmental service award from the Bush Lake Isaak Walton League at the league’s annual member meeting in September.
The award recognized the club for installing a 900-square-foot rain garden at the school, with more than 600 native plants to provide a habitat for pollinators and birds.
The Kennedy Green Club partners with the organization’s communications and projects committee to share messages and information with school and district leaders about green energy solutions, recycling programs, avoiding harsh chemicals and providing clean environments.
