Kennedy’s Student Voices of Unity club partners with City of Bloomington
³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ paraprofessional Leticia Alvarez, student advocate Kassie Ariza and Kennedy’s Student Voices of Unity club are partnering with the City of Bloomington. The city offered the club to contribute ideas for the redesign plan of public parks and prepare feedback in a recent transit study of 98th Street and I-35W.
Students are proposing energy-efficient skylights, dog park additions, family picnic areas with grills, gender-neutral restrooms, community resource bulletin, safer traffic control and parking as developmental improvements for the city.
Student Voices of Unity’s mission is to understand and implement community, culture, equity, connection and personal and educational development. The club offers students a safe place to feel heard, seen, valued and appreciated.
