What is Speech Team?

Speech Team is a competitive speaking activity often called “an intellectual sport.” Students can choose from 13 categories, ranging from storytelling to persuasive speaking, and showcase their talents at tournaments throughout the season.

What is the time commitment?

• Nov.: Team meetings on Tuesdays from 2:45-3:45 p.m.
• Dec / Jan: Choice between personal one-on-one with coach or come to the team meeting time on Wednesdays from 2:45-3:45 p.m.
• Students will be expected to practice at home to become familiar with their piece and to polish their presentation.

*Participating in tournaments in Jan./Feb. - Cost is $20 for registration fee for the whole season (four tournaments)

When are the tournaments?

Saturday mornings  (8:15-11:30 a.m.)

• Tournament dates are TBD

    • Jan. 31
